Reiki and Seichim Healing

Reiki and Seichim have roots in ancient practices of hands-on healing, whereby the healing energy is being channelled through the hands of the therapist to the recipient.

In Buddhist monasteries the teaching and the skills used to be transmitted from a master to a student as a part of the overall training which took years of studies. Now, with rediscovery and subsequent adaption of these practices to the changing needs of the modern world, training takes considerably shorter time, while being no less effective.

Reiki and Seichim:

  • help rebalance and reenergize mind and body
  • promote relaxation
  • release emotional blockages
  • clear toxins
  • relieve pain
  • facilitate healing processes
  • strengthen intuition and creativity
  • help access the deeper state of peace and love.

Reiki (Japanese ‘ray’ meaning ‘universal’ and ‘ki’ meaning life energy) was rediscovered by Japanese Buddhist Mikao Usui in the early 1900s and further developed by his pupils who also took the practice to the West.

At First Degree, a Reiki practitioner is able to heal herself and others, at Second Degree is able to heal others distantly with the use of specialised symbols, and at Master level is able to teach and attune others to Reiki.

Seichim is believed to have originated in Egypt thousands of years ago. It is associated with the Egyptian lion-headed Mother Goddess Sekhmet, whose attributes are healing as well as power. Seichim had then migrated to Sourthern India and Japan, and was perfected and practiced for centuries in Tibet. In 1980s it was rediscovered and brought to the West by an American Reiki Master Patrick Zeigler. It is believed that in Seichim the feminine yin-aspect of the healing energy is more enhanced.

Once attuned to Reiki and Seichim, a therapist usually channels both energies simultaneously. The therapy involves placing hands on or above the body of the recipient in a sequence of positions. Channelling means that no energy is drawn from the healer, who is energised and strengthened together with the recipient during the session.

Feel free to book a free consultation via Skype or phone to discuss how Reiki and Seichi could be of benefit to you and your emotional or physical health.
