I came to doing therapy through my personal journey of self-discovery and healing. Although I have considered counselling as a possible career when I was still a teenager, I am glad that I did not pursue it until later in life, when I achieved greater psychological and spiritual maturity.
I was born and grew up in St Petersburg (Russia), then lived in Israel, Holland and lately in the UK. I did my PhD at Cambridge in the area of Comparative Religion and continue to be actively involved in research, publishing and presenting papers at academic conferences. For many years I have also participated in promoting interfaith dialogue.
My development as a therapist was not a coincidence, but a natural progression of my deep interest in understanding human psyche and in helping people overcome emotional challenges and create happier, more fulfilling life.
I have faith in people’s inner strength and help people to tap into their hidden resources and to find new meanings, unique for them.
In my work I integrate a variety of approaches, with the emphasis on talking therapy. I also offer email support in-between the sessions. I see the development of trust and the sense of connectedness between the therapist and a client as a basis for successful therapy. This is something that takes time, but usually a couple of sessions is enough to form an idea about the potential of our work together.
You are welcome to book a free 20 minutes consultation to talk to me in person and ask further questions.
